EXPERTISE ROOTED IN FRANCE
Gérard Payet founded SETE (Société Équipements Techniques Expansés) in Villeurbanne. A chemist by training, he partnered with the founder of MIP (Matériel Industriel Pneumatique). Together, they manufactured a variety of technical plastic components, laying the foundations of our processing expertise.
In 1974, the two entities merged to form a single company and relocated to Bonnefamille in Isère. Drawing on his expertise in chemistry, Mr. Payet recognized the strategic opportunity presented by two-component technologies and fluids, definitively steering SETEMIP towards technical packaging.
To overcome supply problems, SETEMIP made the bold decision to manufacture its own cartridges (400ml in 1:1 and 2:1 ratios) and bell mixers. It was at this time that the company partnered with Arnaud FRIZON and Maurice DURAND of DUFRI PLAST to handle the plastic injection molding.
After more than 50 years shaping the company, and at the age of 84, Gérard Payet felt the time was right to hand over the reins. The official acquisition was finalized on June 13, 2019, by his trusted industrial partners, Arnaud Frizon and Maurice Durand, ensuring a seamless continuity of operations.
A new era begins. Following the complete acquisition of the building in 2024 and after more than a year of modernization work, SETEMIP and DUFRI PLAST are fully unifying their production lines and design offices on a single high-performance industrial site.
